McDonald's Chief Standing Bear Essay Contest

Our 2013 winners are Emily Hernandez, Raven Turner, Azure faull-Goodman, Anna Weeks and Makena Callam.
The purpose of the essay contest is to generate awareness in our youth and community of the many accomplishments of the Ponca Chief Standing Bear. Last year each of the four winners received a Kindle e-Reader, a $25 McDonald's Arch Card, a framed copy of their winning essay, and had the opportunity to read their essays at the 2012 Chief Standing Bear Breakfast in Omaha, Nebraska on May 12th, 2012 in front of over 700 attendees. McDonald’s published winning essays on tray liners that were distributed in Nebraska restaurants (click here to view the trayliners). Last year we expanded to invite more age groups to submit essays including elementary school (4th, 5th grade), middle school (6th-8th grade), high school (9th-12th grade), and college students.
